The EarthDais Mission and Invitation

Earth, this beautiful intricately woven bio-orb we call by various names like home, gaia, other, ‘out,’ Mother. Dais, that raised platform of prominence upon which we place the honored or speak from about the worthy. And so Earthdais.com is a venue upon which a blend of Vedic Sciences, Sustainability, Biodynamic Farming and other nature-earth-centered topics are engaged to increase our ability to relentlessly act skillfully within the view that the Earth in her fullness is the center of the Eco-system and is one of the most profound mirrors of our collective internal state.
‘Earthdais’ in terms of contemporary vernacular means ‘Earth Day Is.’ Earth Day, the day we celebrate the earth, just simply IS. It is not just April 22, not just some memorable event, but Earth Day Is and is every day. It just simply always Is, in all perfection.
The word ‘earth’ comes from the OE ‘eorthe’ which comes from the Dutch ‘aarde’ which comes from the Gothic ‘airtha.’ I can’t prove this but I would aver to say that the Gothic ‘airtha’ is a direct cognate with the Sanskrit ‘artha,’ which means resources, object of utility, wealth, abundance, or that which acts on behalf of. The Sanskrit word ‘dhayas’ means nourishing, strengthening, sustaining or satisfying. Hence ‘earthdais,’ in Sanskrit becomes ‘arthadhayas,’the sustaining of our resources, the satisfying of our Earth.
So welcome to Earthdais where one can learn and share about life in tune with each other, every ‘other,’ with the underlying mechanisms of our beautiful world, with its resources, with ourselves, and of our sustenance.
